INTEGRATED UNITS OF WORK
In 2024, we will continue to use MAPPEN to support our planning and implementation of the integrated curriculum. Teams should work together to follow the scope and implement lessons that best support the students and their learning needs. Lessons can be modified to meet the needs of the students and the teacher.
VICTORIAN CURRICULUM CAPABILITIES
MAPPEN should support the teaching of all areas of the Victorian Curriculum (excluding Literacy and Numeracy), incluidng
* Critical and Creative Thinking
* Ethical
* Intercultural, and
* Personal and Social Capabilities.
Teachers should continue to consider these capabilities when planning, as you are required to assess and provide teacher judgements in these areas.
Teachers must consider the explicit teaching of Digital Technology (from Prep to Year 6) and Design & Technology (this may also fall into STEM). The use of technology is not explicit enough to meet Victorian Curriculum requirements.

TEAM PLANNING
SPECIALIST and INTERVENTION TEACHER PLANNING
* Specialist and intervention teachers are required to have their planning saved on the teacher Google Drive.
* Planning must include the Learning Intention, Success Criteria, content being taught, and resources required.
OTHER
- Teams will work together to teach consistent outcomes for all students in their team. The way teachers teach can be personal, however, all whole class outcomes need to be the same.
- Teachers work together in teams to effectively plan, implement and reflect on teaching and learning. Team planning time is allocated for all teachers, therefore, should be used for team planning. Teachers are expected to follow the protocols of team planning.
- There is an expectation that teams use a consistent planner to document learning. This should be the key driver, along with student learning data, at allotted team planning time. All team planning should be saved in the google folder, already set up for you.
- Student data is used to inform teaching and learning for all students. This includes the use of the FACES data.
- Team planning time is not to be used to enter data.
- Teams should establish the consistent use of agendas, norms and minutes of meetings. It is the teams responsibility to keep these up to data and accessible to leadership, when required.
SPECIALIST and INTERVENTION TEACHER PLANNING
* Specialist and intervention teachers are required to have their planning saved on the teacher Google Drive.
* Planning must include the Learning Intention, Success Criteria, content being taught, and resources required.
OTHER
- Learning Intentions and Success Criteria must be displayed and/or discussed at the beginning of each lesson and referred to throughout.
- The BPS Literacy and Numeracy Teaching Models are the implementation model that all teachers are required to follow and implement. The model consists of a combination of Direct Explicit Instruction and Gradual Release (I do, We do, You do, Practice)
- Teachers are to work with ES staff to plan and implement modified curriculum, intervention and provide support for specified students.
- We have a collective responsibility for all students in our school, not just the ones in our own classrooms.
